FARO combined bearings have been designed to meet the technical requirements of fork lift mast manufacturers but are also suitable for any other equipment where a linear motion is required. FARO combined bearings provide the best resolution of the external load into its components: the radial load acts on the main radial bearing and the axial load acts on the side guide roller. This system allows the longest life for bearing and profile, being minimized the specific pressure value between bearing and beam.
Assembling of combined bearings is very easy: radial bearing and side guide roller are fitted in the bolt which is ready to be welded to the beam.
MAIN TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Outer rings are made from case-hardened steel UNI 20 MnCr 5 hardened at 60+2 HRC. Inner rings are made from bearing steel En 31 - SAE 52100 hardened at 62-2 HRC. Cylindrical rollers have flat ground heads, made from En 31 - SAE 52100 steel hardened at 59-64 HRC.
Welding bolts are made from low carbon steel. Seal system is: Series 4.054 and 4.072 have radial bearing with steel labyrinth and side guide roller with rubber lips Series 4.454 has both bearing with rubber lips sealing system (RS type). Bearings are supplied lubricated with grease grade 3 (e.g. Shell Alvania 3, Esso Beacon 3).
COMBI BEARINGS
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMBI BEARINGS
1) Bolt seating to be line bored.
2) Check orthogonality between axis and mast.
3) Bolt to be electrically dot welded so to create a weldline robe.
IT IS RECOMMENDED TO DISASSEMBLE THE BEARING IN ORDER TO AVOID
WELDING OPERATION TO RETEMPER RINGS.
4) Use lithium based grease lubricant, with an NLGI3 consistency.

Adjustable combined bearing with eccentric pin
The drawing shows the details of FARO adjustable combined bearing with eccentric pin. The most important features are:
1. eccentric pin with straight knurling on the ends, to prevent its rotation
2. eccentric values are from 0,75mm to 2,5mm according to bearing size. The table shows the minimum and maximum values of “h" dimension (bearing width): 10 intermediate steps are included in this range
3. sealing system for both bearings is made by rubber seals which assure "long life" lubrication.
The bearing adjustment is obtained by the following easy operations:
1) disassembling of front washer
( it’s not necessary to disassemble the seals or extract the bolt from the roll )
2) pulling-out, rotation and insertion of eccentric pin and side guide roller
3) assembling on front washer
