FARO has been producing for several years backing bearings for Sendzimir rolling mills. FARO bearings are tailored products with several cylindrical roller rows and thick-walled outer rings in different shapes to match most different applications.

During the development phase the roller is proportioned according to standard parameters based on the definition of Cw (dynamic) and Cow (static) which consider the deformation of outer ring under load.

FARO bearings are produced with high purity bearing steel and a heat treatment process is planned in order to guarantee to the rings the maximun strength.

In order to guarantee the narrow tolerances for the rolled product, the backimg bearings have to be very precise and the dimensional tolerances are very low with a running accuracy better than P4.

FARO bearings are graded into sectional height groups of 5 microns. The position of the maximum wall thickness is marked on one face of the inner and outer ring with an arrow.

Generally, due to the non-uniform bearings' wear, a regrinding of the outer ring surface is required. FARO providesw a specialized Repair Service to carry out the needed operation in order to maximum exploit bearing's lifetime and consequently gain an important cost saving.

The FARO Repair Service includes:

• dismanting and cleaning of the worn bearings
• damage analysis and repair cost determination
• regrinding of the outer ring
• if needed, replacement of damaged internal components
• assembly and reclassification in sectional height groups
